When we see the world around us. We observe a lot of stressed and depressed people around us. It really amazing, when we find someone just happy without any reason. Either we call them MAD or ask the question, Why are you happy? It is strange when we see the sad and depressed face we don’t ask this? With the changing trend being stressed and depressed is OBVIOUS. We humans true nature is to be happy. That’s Obvious. Have we accepted that being angry, sad, jealous or guilty is OK? What message are we sending to our SUBCONSCIOUS MIND?
There is a science which talks about keeping your happy.
Being happy is different from having POSITIVE THOUGHTS all time. So this science says what may be the situation is. At this moment, you may be sad,
irritated, angry, guilty so on. A person may lift its emotion to the state of being happy is called as HAPPY-OLOGY. In short, the science of being happy. This is an everyday practice, doing the small thing what makes you happy. Happiness is not the permanent state in which we can stay. It could be achieved by doing small humdrum things every day.
For being Happy there are few hormones responsible in our body. These are neurotransmitters which create the state of happiness. When we are in the state of any negative emotions. Our body releases cortisol and adrenaline. These two hormones are responsible for a few things. Adrenaline increases the blood pressure and heart rate. While on the other hand cortisol increases the blood sugar in the bloodstream suppressing the immune system and digestion. If we are a state of tension, anxiety for a long time. We are prone to fall sick to autoimmune diseases. So it is important to understand how to restore our body with happy hormones.
Let we which are these happy neurotransmitters. These are Endorphins, Dopamine, Serotonin and Oxytocin. Let understand the functions one by one.
Laughter is a good way of generating endorphins. Spend 30minutes of exercising every day. Read or watch funny stuff to increase the level of endorphins.
In life journey, dopamine is released when you accomplish the small and big task. when you are recognized or appreciated for the work. This also explains why many housewives are unhappy? they are rarely get acknowledged or appreciated for their work.
3)Serotonin – Serotonin influences the mood and behaviour of the person. It helps you keep away from depression. It is released when we act in a way that benefits others. When we transcend ourselves and give back to others or to nature or to society. That why lots people do social work without any pay. Certain social work is not captured in the media too. But they still continue doing it. Providing useful information on the internet like writing information blogs, answering the question on Quora or Facebook also releases the serotonin.
4) Oxytocin– Oxytocin is the love hormone. It increases the feeling of love and trust. it is realised when we become close to another human being. During intimacy, childbirth, breastfeeding or showing affectionate physical contact, like hugging. When we hug our friends, spouse, kids, family Oxytocin is released.
